What is a Hen Party?
A hen party is a pre-wedding celebration for the bride, her bridesmaids and her friends. It's almost always a female thing, with the men's alternative called a stag do party. It's a hugely fun event for the ladies to have quality time together.
Nowadays, some hen parties are professionally arranged with a full event planner. That is quite rare, though, and the bridesmaid usually arrange it all. With social media and the internet, it's just so much easier these days, too.
There are a range of things the bridesmaids and friends can do. Some even visit a different country. Although it is more common for a stag do party to go abroad, some hens venture out.
Some themes can be:
A very female spa day in a relaxing environment. Facials, scrubs, manicures, pedicures, sauna and jacuzzi can be great fun.
Outdoor Activities: For more adventurous brides, hen parties can involve outdoor pursuits such as hiking, camping, water sports, or even bungee jumping. These activities allow the group to bond and have fun in an adventurous setting. At House Of Mulben, we have shooting, fishing and archery. It's all great fun and in an idyllic setting.
Workshops and Classes: Hen parties can also be centred around learning and skill-building. Activities may include cooking classes, dance lessons, art workshops, or any other activity that interests the bride and her friends.
Overall, a hen party is a time for the bride-to-be and her female friends to come together, have fun, and celebrate the upcoming wedding. It's an opportunity to create lasting memories and strengthen bonds before the bride's transition into married life.
