Unforgettable fun in the countryside awaits you

How to survive a stag party?

You don’t have to drink to have fun

Many people do not drink; this may be for medical reasons, health reasons, or religious reasons. There are many reasons why people don’t drink these days. There may be the odd person in the group who gives you a bit of stick, but it’s now much more commonly accepted that some people don’t drink. You do not have to drink to have fun.

Acclimatise yourself

It would be mad not to have drunk for years and then go wild with booze on a stag do. Your body just won’t be used to the difference. Give yourself a taste of some drinks a few weeks or months leading up to the big night.

Have the wedding weeks after the stag

It goes without saying, but holding the stag party anywhere close to the wedding is just silly. The groom and the attendees of the wedding should all be fully fit and not have any hangover whatsoever. It’s a very good idea to have the stag way before the wedding, two weeks minimum, preferably months before.

Hydrate

One of the leading causes of a hangover is dehydration. This can be prevented by having a lot of water or soft drinks after and before the heavy drinking session.

Stick to one drink

Mixing drinks is one of the best ways to get a bad hangover and feel dreadful for days. Stick to one drink is a very good rule.

No drugs

Just no drugs, certainly not mixed with alcohol. You know better.

Pace yourself

Some of the younger lot on the stag may punch themselves out early by just going for it. It makes sense to pace yourself on a stag. You want to enjoy the whole night, not be back home or back to the hotel at 10:30 legless.

Say no

When the rounds are flowing, and others are downing drinks, left, right and centre, just say no. You can still have fun whilst not keeping up with everyone, especially if you are not used to it.

Eat a lot

Eating a good meal beforehand can really help you avoid getting sick in the next few days. Eating something at the end of the night is also a really good idea.

No photos

Seeing people doing stupid things might be a laugh at the time, but what if a future boss or recruitment agency saw the photos attached to your next job application? People have been fired and not hired because of acting like fools at a stag party. No photos of silly stuff.

Of all these points, remember the first one: you do not need to drink to have fun.
