What can I do for a stag party in North East Scotland?
There's a lot to see and do in North East Scotland, here are a few choices and at the end, a little about what we offer at House Of Mulben.
WhiteWater Rafting
Ace Adventures offers world-class rafting with certified instructors. All year round rafting with a minimum grade 3, which is quite adventurous. After rainfall, this rating can climb to grade 5, which makes it even more exciting. Also included is cliff jumping for those who dare. This is an activity for younger ages of stag parties, who are looking for something thrilling. It demands communication, coordination, and trust, as you work together to steer, balance, and power through turbulent Scottish water. You will see some stunning scenery as you descend the River Findhorn. Great fun for your group and something you will remember.
Aberdeen nightlife
Aberdeen is the main city in the north east of Scotland, and provides the most lively nightlife. There are dozens of bars and clubs, and something for all ages in a stag party. Aura nightclub is bang in the city centre, one of the biggest clubs in Scotland, and suited to a younger audience. For the more mature stag parties, Venga nightclub is a favourite with a more mature music taste. 3 notable bars are 1. Prince Of Wales – A classic Aberdeen pub tucked off Union Street, loved for its long bar, lively crowd and traditional feel. It’s ideal for a relaxed pint and chat in a genuine local setting. 2. St. Machar Bar – A friendly, laid-back pub on High Street with excellent reviews for its affordable drinks and welcoming vibe — great for socialising or starting a night out 3. Krakatoa – More of a late-night bar with a buzzing atmosphere and music, open late and popular with locals and visitors alike. There is nightlife for all ages of stags in Aberdeen.
Peterhead Prison
A little bit unusual and up in the north of north-east Scotland is the Peterhead prison. You will be in for a very interesting tour of one of the UK’s most notorious high-security prisons. You will get a great insight into what prison life was like, and some of the stories will awaken you. Expect stark architecture, compelling audio guides, real inmate stories, and insight into historic riots and escapes. It’s immersive, sobering, and educational — ideal for visitors interested in crime history, social history, or unique heritage attractions in northeast Scotland. Not your everyday stag party venue, but of interest to some, no doubt.
Aberdeen Football Club
The famous Aberdeen, as the fans sing, is a great afternoon or evening out for sports fans. Aberdeen play in the Scottish Premier League and competes with world-renowned Glasgow Celtic and Rangers. Aberdeen have seen recent success in the 2024/2025 cup, beating Celtic on penalties in the final. There is only one football club in the city, unlike other Scottish cities such as Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow, where intense rivalries exist. Attendances average about 13,500, and on a good day, fans can be highly entertained with an attacking brand of football. Ticket prices range from £25 to £35.
Golf Courses
There are dozens of golf courses in North-East Scotland and a club for every standard. Scotland is where Golf was invented, of course, and is hugely popular in the area. Notable courses are Royal Aberdeen, Trump International, Balmedie and Meldrum House. The area was brought into more focus for golf when, in 1999, local player Paul Lawrie won the most famous golf competition in the world - the Open Championship in Carnoustie. He has an excellent short 9-hole course, driving range and golf shop just outside of Aberdeen. Well worth a visit.
Whisky
Speyside is famous for whisky, and it’s all around us here in Mulben. Thousands of people in the area are hired directly and indirectly because of this liquid gold. We have links to the Highlander Inn, which is a few minutes' drive away. It’s known for having 1 of the largest whisky collections in the world. Whisky distillery tours are popular with Stags. There are many whisky tours available, with 2 of the most popular being Glenfiddich and Macallan.
HoM
At House Of Mulben, we are in the heart of Speyside and have been hosting stag parties for almost 2 decades. We offer Clay Pigeon shooting, Fishing, Air Rifles and Archery. We are suited to a more mature stag party who may choose to visit in the afternoon after a morning's whisky tasting. With thousands of happy stags and attendees, we are known for customer experience and giving everyone great memories of their stag.
