Options for an Aberdeen Stag do?
Aberdeen is a bustling city with a population of roughly 220,000 people and is famous for oil. There is a thriving student community, and there is a lot to do.
Escape rooms
There are a number of escape rooms in Aberdeen. Mostly inside with a pre-determined route and problems to solve. These range in prices from £14 up to £75 per person. The higher fee involves cocktail making, so more than you'd expect from an everyday escape room. The rooms and options make for a great laugh for your stag party.
Another option is MyCity Escape rooms, which is a little like Pokémon Go, where you play on your own terms and own schedule. You dash around the city to solve the game. Great fun for a stagger!
Footgolf
This is a great outdoor activity and is a mix between football and golf. You kick a size 5 football around an 18-hole course / pitch. It’s incredibly affordable at £5 per person and is available at Hazelhead Park. Your game of Footgolf will last about 2 hours when you are broken into 2 or 3 teams. This is better enjoyed in the warmer months and is really good banter for a group of lads on a stag party.
Coasteering
This is a mix of rock scrambling, swimming through sea gullies and along foreshore rocks, optional cliff jumps into deep water and exploring sea caves and tide pools. You need to be able to swim in cold water and have reasonable fitness. Qualified instructors lead you along the route, and it is completely safe. All equipment is provided, including helmet, wetsuit and buoyancy aid. Coasteering lasts about 2 and a half hours and takes place at Cove, which is just a few miles out of Aberdeen on the South side.
Cadonas
Cadonas has been around for ages and still enthrals thousands of people. It’s an amusement park with laser tag, bowling, restaurants, amusements and dodgems. There is also a 3-level cart way, which is great fun for the drivers amongst us. It’s a good choice for a stag party with a range of different options. It’s affordable at £30 per person, giving a fun time for an afternoon or evening. There is a range of bars around the beach area where your stag party might want to visit.
Aberdeen FC
Aberdeen Football Club play in the Premier Scottish division between August and May. They play at home roughly every 2 weeks, and sports fans will enjoy an afternoon out at Pittodrie. It’s quite affordable, with tickets costing around £30 per person. There is a range of followers of all ages, and if it’s a game against another large team, the atmosphere can be lively. It’s located quite centrally and is just a 25-minute walk from the city centre.
Paintballing
Edzell, about 40 minutes south of Aberdeen, has paintballing in an outdoor wooded area. Paintballing is team baseda nd good banter for a stag party, the outdoor setting makes it better for warm weather, but you may get away with spring or autumn if you are lucky at that time of the year. Paintballing costs around £60 per player, and that includes all equipment and 500 paintballs.
There is another paintballing facility out at Banchory, which also offers airsoft and axe-throwing. Banchory is roughly 30 minutes out of Aberdeen, roughly about the same as Edzell.
Summary
The above are all viable options for daytime activities. In Aberdeen, there is a vast array of pubs and clubs with a wide variety of themes and music. Aberdeen is harder to find a hotel room during the week, with demand less at weekends, which is reflected in the prices. You should be able to find accommodation easily then and take part in these interesting activities.
HoM
At House of Mulben, we are about an hour from Aberdeen and have hosted many stag parties over the years. We offer clay pigeon shooting, fishing, archery and air-rifle shooting. This takes place in a friendly and safe environment. All equipment is provided, and we can pick up stag parties from the train station at Keith, which is about 10 minutes away. We can provide a full barbecue and other food options. We are in the heart of Malt Whisky Country, and many groups decide to do a whisky tasting experience in the morning and then our activities in the afternoon.
