Things to do and see in Aberdeenshire
Aberdeenshire is one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Not only do we think so do many of our visitors. Blessed by magnificent mountains and hills yet still enough people and things to do not to make it bland. Aberdeenshire has lots to see and do, and we are proud to be located here.
We have visited this ourselves many times over the years and its certainly something unique. Being 'outdoors' and country livers ourselves its a great day out for all the family. Its located quite close to us and is about 15/20mins in a car near Huntly. Visit Huntly Falconry
Keith and Dufftown Railway
The railway was opened only a few years ago after many years of red tape and financial issues. Its a great tourist outing with some stunning scenary along the way. Run by volunteers and very well managed its a boost for the small town of Keith which is our closest town. Highly Recommended. Visit Keith and Dufftown railway
Malt Whisky Trail
Speyside is malt Whisky country and the trail is must for anyone even slightly interested in the world famous drink. We highly recommend you pop in a hidden treasure of the area, The Highlander Inn Hotel in which you can enjoy a massive selection of Whisky and can wrack the brains of bar manager and Whisky expert - Tatsuya Minagawa. Visit The Highlander Inn
Boyndie Race Circuit
This will be more popular with the male population but Boyndie race circuit hosts some competitive track action every second Sunday. Set between Banff and Portsoy you can also enjoy a great drive just to get there yourself. Visit Grampian Kart Club
Moray Firth Dolphins
Another one of these days out we have experienced and can highly recommend. Dolphins are one of the cutest and cuddly things you can ever see, pity its just too cold to swim with them :-) If the weather is good and of course we cannot guarantee that ( we do live in Scotland) you are set for something very special. Grampian Kart Club
Another male sport. Keith, Elgin, Huntly, Inverurie all have small football teams which compete in the Highland and Scottish leagues respectively. There have been some cracking games over the last few years in their domestic leagues and in the Scottish cup. Normally on Saturdays these small stadiums can make for interesting afternoon out for sports fans.
For keen walkers the Speyside Way is a great and adventurous walk. Following the famous River Spey, (no prises for guessing), the walk is not only beautiful but will help you keep you fit. We like enjoy the walk ourselves on mountain bikes which makes it that more enjoyable. Visit Speyside Way
Above are all great things to do and see in Aberdeenshire. Theres lots more to be found and but we find sometimes just a walk or mountain bike in the country is the most enjoyable.Enquire Now
